This easily customizable granola cereal is great with milk, or as a topping on yogurt. Switch up the dried fruit, nuts, and seeds and make a different blend every time!

Ingredients
3cupswhole oats
3tbspbrown sugar, packed
½tspcinnamon
¼tspsalt
⅓cuphoney or maple syrup
¼cupvegetable oil(I use canola but feel free to use your favourite)
1tspvanilla
½cupdried fruit(your choice of cranberries, raisins, currents, dried apples or berries, coconut, etc.)
½cupnuts and seeds(your choice of almonds, pecans, walnuts, sunflower seeds, sesame seeds, pepitas, etc.)
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 300°F.
Place oats, brown sugar, cinnamon and salt in a large bowl. Stir to mix together.
Place honey or maple syrup, oil and vanilla in a small bowl. Stir to mix. (The oil will want to separate anyways).
Pour over the oat mixture, and stir to combine.
Spread in a thin, even layer on a baking sheet. Bake 15 minutes. Stir, and continue to bake another 5-15 minutes until light golden brown.
Remove from the oven and pour into a heat-proof bowl. Stir for 5 minutes. This is important! If you leave it to sit on the baking sheet or in the bowl without stirring, it will clump together and stick to the pan. We want a nice, loose, granola.
Cool20 minutes 20 minutes, then add your choice of fruit, nuts and seeds. Toss to combine.
I like to store in glass jars. A canning funnel is essential to avoid spilling when you pour it in. Plastic storage containers would also work fine.
NOTE: If you are using raw nuts, you can toast them with the oat mixture.
Notes
This recipe is so popular in our house, I triple the ingredients and use a whole bag of Quaker Oats.
